But there are a few basic rules of parenting that it seemed reasonable to assume were intuitive:
1. Feed your baby regularly.
2. Make sure your baby gets enough sleep every day.
3. Clean and bathe your baby periodically.
4. Keep your baby away from sharp objects and fire.
And 5 through 10: Don't give your baby cigarettes before his second birthday!
Apparently some dumbass dad in Indonesia broke Rules 5 through 10 when he gave his 18-month old, Aldi Rizal (now 2 years old), a smoke in what you can only hope was some sort of bizarre one-time bet. The kid has since developed a serious nicotine habit, and now smokes two packs (that's 40 cigarettes!) a day.
Government officials have offered the family a free car if they get the kid to quit, but you just know the father would introduce Aldi to the concept of sucking on exhaust pipes.
